Developing new ideas and bringing them to market, so that they can be turned into profitable products, processes and services, is the lifeblood of our business. That is why we place so much emphasis on innovation.

We have invested heavily in our people and our research and development facilities to encourage innovation at all levels of our business. Our aim is to create an environment that supports innovation and inspires people. We also want to encourage innovation within our industry. In the UK we sponsor the annual UK Chemical Industries Association (CIA) award for Innovation.

Our approach to innovation has been a great success. Across our market sectors there are many examples of how we are bringing real benefits to our customers and the wider world.

Whether it is ground breaking fuel additives for Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel (see Fuel Specialties) or the development of biodegradable chelating agents (see Performance Chemicals), Innospec has pioneered specialty chemicals that raise the bar of innovation in our industry.

As an organisation we also embrace innovation when it comes to the development of our own business. From our approach to R&D, through the mindset of our business teams, to the operation of our manufacturing facilities and the development of our safety, health and environmental practices, we relish change and the opportunity to put new thinking into practice.
