Dr. Robert E Bew
Non-Executive Chairman
Dr Robert Bew serves as Non-Employee Chairman. Until January 1st
2001 he was Chairman of the European Process Industries
Competitiveness Centre, an organisation specialising in increasing
competitiveness in process industries. Until 2002 he was also
Chairman of the Teeside Chemical Initiatives (TCI). Bob spent over
35 years with ICI, most recently as CEO of ICI's International
Chemical & Polymer division based in Teeside, UK. Previously he
served as head of ICI Corporate Planning and between 1995 and 1997
he was also Chairman of Phillip Imperial Petroleum Limited, a
refinery joint venture between ICI and Phillips Petroleum. Bob is
Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and
a member of the Audit Committee.
Paul W Jennings
President and Chief Executive Officer
Paul Jennings joined the company in 2002 as Executive Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer. He was appointed President
and Chief Executive Officer in July 2005. Paul is also a
non-Executive Director of Exide Technologies. Prior to this Paul
was Chief Financial Officer for Griffin LLC, a joint venture
between Griffin Corporation and Dupont in the crop protection
chemical industry based in the USA. From 1986 to 1999, he held the
positions of Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance
for various divisions and regions of Courtaulds plc. He worked in
Europe, USA and Singapore, in the fibre, chemical, film and coating
industries.
Hugh G C Aldous
Non-Executive Director
Hugh Aldous is a partner at RSM Robson Rhodes Chartered
Accountants and Management Consultants, where he served as Chief
Executive Officer from 1987 to 1997. Hugh currently serves as
Chairman of two buy-out funds: Craegmoor Healthcare Limited and
Eastern European Trust plc. He is also a Non- Executive Director of
two listed public investment companies, Henderson TR Pacific Trust
plc and Elderstreet Millennium Venture Capital Trust. He currently
chairs the Audit Committee of Henderson TR Pacific Trust plc and
Elderstreet Millennium Capital Trust plc. Hugh is a member of the
Audit Committee and Compensation Committee.
Peter Fearn
Non-Executive Director
Peter Fearn is currently President of Dipharma Srl, an Italian fine chemicals company that supplies the pharmaceuticals industry. He is also the owner of SKMP Ltd, a consulting firm that specialises in mergers and acquisitions in the chemicals industry. Peter was recently Executive Chairman of the Danish animal health care company VetXX A/S until the business was sold in January 2008. During his career Peter has held senior positions with several leading chemical companies. Between 2002 and 2005 he was CEO of Finnish Chemicals Oy. From 1996 to 2000 he was a main board director with Laporte Plc and CEO of their Specialty Organics Division. Peter also spent 12 years with Courtaulds in various senior roles. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA). Peter is a member of the Compensation Committee.
Martin M Hale
Non-Executive Director
Martin Hale is a Director of Chemtura and was previously a
director of Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, a position he has
held since 1978. From 1995 until May 2000 he also served as
Chairman. Prior to 1983, Martin was President and Chief Executive
Officer of Marsh & McClennan Asset Management Company. From
1983 to 2001 he was Executive Vice President and Partner of Hellman
Jordan Management Co, a registered investment adviser. He also
serves as a Trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Martin is
the Chairman of the Audit Committee.
James Puckridge
Non-Executive Director
James Puckridge was Chairman of Elf Atochem UK Limited (now
Atofina UK Ltd.) from 1990 until his retirement in December 1998.
Prior to that he was Managing Director of the same organisation.
James is a Non-Executive Director of Thomas Swan and Co. Limited, a
UK based specialty chemical corporation and venture capitalist. He
has been Chairman of the Trustees of The Associated Octel Company
Limited Pension Plan since October 2000. James is Chairman of the
Compensation Committee and is a member of the Nominating and
Corporate Governance Committee.
Joachim Roeser
Non-Executive Director
Joachim Roeser is CEO of the Amber Chemical Group, a global
specialty silicone producer owned by Caledonia Investments. Born in
Germany, he has lived and worked in Belgium, France, Germany and
the UK during a career spanning 30 years. He started work in the
emulsifier and starch industry before joining Arco Chemical in 1983
where he held a number of senior management positions, ultimately
serving as Global Business Director, Styrene, for two years. More
recently, he has been President and CEO of the Rio Tinto subsidiary
Luzenac, the leading talc mining producer in the world, and
European President of Ferro Corporation. Joachim has a degree in
Chemical Engineering from the University of Wuppertal. Joachim is a
member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
