When was Innospec established?

Two years ago our company went through a major transformation programme and we changed our name to Innospec to reflect our new strategic direction as a multi-product specialty chemicals business. However, we can trace our origins back almost 70 years to the days of the Associated Ethyl Company Limited, which later became Associated Octel.

What is Innospec's focus today?

We are focusing on building a company with a sustainable future. That means keeping pace with a changing world and manufacturing products that will be benefit society as a whole without storing up problems for future generations. We are following a clear strategy that will help us become the leading supplier of specialty chemicals in our chosen fuel treatment and performance enhancing chemicals markets. At the same time we want to successfully manage the long-term and irreversible decline of our tetra ethyl lead business.

What drives Innospec's markets?

Our markets are driven by a number of factors. Environmental legislation, health concerns, the need to boost efficiency and performance, technological advances, competition and demographic changes in world consumption all have an impact on our business.
